This orchard has slim triangle form, its gate is made by rotten iron steel, the wall cover with black iron net. The widest part only allows two rows of pomelo trees to grow by staggered planting. The brick ditch meander in these two rows. The orchard 23 11’ 44.7”N 120 16’ 58.2”E is across the road.
It seems like to be abandoned by the 23 11’ 44.7”N 120 16’ 58.2”E, the orchard 23 11’ 44.6”N 120 16’ 57.4”E survive in a difficult and awkward way ,which cause it become to a curve shape that is opposite to the order.

There are three acequias side by side in front of the orchard. The gate is made by rotten iron steel. There are three brick ditches that every orchard arranges along them. The wall cover with black iron net. A water tower is placed at the corner. The material is similar to 23 11’ 44.6”N 120 16’ 57.4”E, it should be the same owner.
Though the scale of orchard is small, the function is complete and orderly. And the brick ditch is the most characteristic part of it.

This is an orchard out of the town, surrounding by the farmland. The front and backside of the orchard is close to the acequia. The front is connect to the other farmland by a plain wood bridge, the back side connect the courtyard houses made with iron sheet. And the courtyard houses is using to store the vehicles and farm tools nearby the road. The orchard’s wall is the stretch of the courtyard houses walls. The walls heights of the front and the west side are extend by iron fence and black net, the gate is the dark iron steel which is commonly been seeing. And the previous photos show that the gate used to be white. There is a water tower in the orchard, where the highest point is.
The orchard has integrated independence and amazing esthetic scale. The simply materials and the structure reveal astonishing strength directly. The dark gate compares with the light iron sheet wall, the door knob become the only useless material, elevating the entirety to elegance. And only growing in front of the gate - Polygonum perfoliatum L, a kind of thorns, bring myth of metaphor.
NAMELESS GARDEN
The orchard occupies an important position in Madou, but it is hidden in space and not easy to be experienced. This is mainly related to the closure of the orchard and private characteristics. It is a pity that the main space for the construction of Madou is neglected for a long time. To this end, this chapter records the orchards of Madou and reveals its relevance to the garden.
The Madou's orchards have three main elements, the pomelo tree, the wall, the entrance, and we can easily associate it with the ancient gardens of West Asia. Eden, known as the first garden in the history of mankind, has walls and rivers, the park is full of all kinds of fruit trees, the gate of the garden with angels guarded. But we have to go back to the earlier age, even the origin of the word “garden”, “garden” was originally used to represent the enclosed land, after a long evolution of the gradual change from the meaning of agriculture into ornamental, entertainment garden, and even paradise. The Madou's orchards just reflect the most primitive garden type, they are closed, economy and nameless, but it indicates the purest joy of mankind. The possible activities in these primitive gardens can be further fantasy through the Islamic garden, people strolling under the neatly structured orange garden, chatting, enjoying the fragrance of orange and the cool feeling from drains...
果園在麻豆占有重要的地位，但它在空間上卻是被隱藏的、不易被體驗的。這主要與果園的圍閉與私有特性有關。建構麻豆的主要空間角色被長期忽略是可惜的，紀錄揭示了其與花園的關聯性。
麻豆果園的構成：樹陣、圍牆、門，我們很容易聯想到伊甸園，甚至更早花園的起源：圍閉的園。麻豆果園體現了原始的花園型態，它封閉、經濟、沒沒無聞，卻預示著人類最純粹的歡愉。這些初始的花園內，人們在規整的果樹下漫步、談天，享受著果實的清香與地上水渠帶來的涼意……。

It’s a triangle orchard enclosed by the plastic factory and the elevated highway. Wall was made by the metal, cement column, iron net, iron fence composition. There are two entrances on the northwest border. The gate of left side is assembled by two different iron fences, and the gate of right side is composed of same metal red fences. These two gates extend the direction to another two gates in the south-west side. The debris stack along the ditch.
Most of walls of Madou’s orchards were made with cheap material or the waste, and this one is no exception. One of the gate is assembled by all different type of iron frame. You can tell that the materials used on the wall is as same as the wastes stacked on ditch. They all show the feature that the locals pick the materials nearby to use and assemble it in Madou orchards.

This orchard surrounded by the other orchards, the entrance is hidden in the narrow path between two orchards. An apiary is in the north-west side. There are many graves placed inside and outside the orchard, the one of them placed next to the entrance of the south-east side. The pomelo trees which are in different growing stages planted in different places. A brick ditch along with three lines of the pomelo trees which are the oldest and extended longest, flow out of the orchard.
Two graves affect the plan of the orchard. The object of the past that is hard to remove can’t stop people using the land. The old and the new combined into a interesting scenery.

It’s a small orchard in the town. There is a dovecote with a huge metal ball next to the orchard, becoming the noticeable landmark. The iron net wall climbed with vine, and the iron fence gate opposite to a shabby traditional house. A treillage built between house and the gate, climbed by the same vine as the wall. There are some shrubs that obviously for ornamental using under the shed. The orchards and plantings scattered everywhere, seems lack of caring.
The reason why this seemingly unattractive orchard being record is that it full of garden elements, and the plan also similar to garden, perhaps it has been use as a part of garden once. This is an exciting discovery even though it combine with economy.

The neatest orchard, which has the greatest order and the best management. The gate and the wall were built with clean iron fence. The chicken coop was placed in the corner, raising some black chickens. In the daytime, chicken will be released to the orchard, which is the owner’s hobby. Different from 3.5 m, the distance between each orchard was average 7.5 m, which is wider than the usual orchards. Thus, the orchards branches are taller and scattered than usual, and the lawn under the trees have been trim frequently. There are orange trees planted along the wall, with the cages placed beside the orange trees. Picnic and concert had been held in the orchard. People call it the most beautiful orchard.
The fruit from the orchard have high quality, the owner said that the frequently trim and the wide space make the good ventilation, let the trees healthier. The trimmed orchards become more pleasing, the space under the trees is wide and covered by comfortable lawn, no stink from fertilizer. There are many things cause this place easily to get close, even occurred many activities that not usual happened in garden. The most important is that this orchard has high economic value, aesthetics and function combine perfectly in here, like the modern architecture credo.

These two small orchards placed between road and buildings, replacing the road tree’s place. The wall composed with black plastic net and black linen, enclose the whole orchard. The gate composed with iron fence, black iron net and wood, one of the entrance is written on “entrance” in Chinese.
Strong black wall separates the orchard inside and outside, though the orchard is on the street, it is hard to know the inside. Using lots of black and the big word “entrance” make the orchard obvious, but that’s all, without any further information.

The Wang’s gravel
There is an empty land beside the path of the countryside. The end of the land placed a gravel with exaggerating decoration. The entrance is right beside the gravel. The waterway cut the south side of the orchard. There is decoration of patterns of flower pots on the old iron fence of entrance and the dragon fruit climb all over the walls.
The old orchards nearby the entrance growing so prosperous that one must head down to pass it, but the young orchard didn’t have to do this. The orchards offer cover for several dead trees which grow in it.

An abandoned old house separates the orchard into two parts. The gates were placed in the two sides of the house. Two potted plants of Bottle Palm were set in front of each of the two gates.
The orchard was cut into triangle through the two roads and old house. It’s messy inside. Orchards and the shed with old plants climbing on it was everywhere. It is featured with the weird plan, the front and back yard became to the left and right, and the architecture was put into the side of traditional yard. Trying to image that a man whose head grow on his shoulder staring at you, you’ll know that the existence of the building can’t be ignored.
